Water-Wise Plant Selectors

One of the most frustrating problems new gardeners to the Albuquerque area can face is trying to grow their favorite plant only to watch it wither and die due to the climate and exposure.

Gardening here is different!  The soil chemistry is different, the humidity levels are different and the sun exposure is more extreme than almost anywhere else you might have gardened. No, you don't have to be satisfied with concrete or gravel. Beautiful landscapes are possible, just use the right plant material. You want a "water smart" landscape.
